Have you heard of the philosophy?

Dear Doctor

Have you heard of the philosophy that you treat the WHOLE person and not just what they are presenting with at the time you see them?

We all have different conditions, some of which are clear and visible, others, not so much.  Just look at people out in the street and if they have a condition that is visible, that doesn’t mean the person that doesn’t have any conditions at all.  Someone who has lost their arm or leg is simple (well, relatively at least).  And because they are unique and don’t present these issues in the same fashion, doesn’t mean they are not equally valid.

I am sure you know that each medication for each condition can interact badly on a body and cause all kinds of odd things to happen.  And not only badly on the body, but even badly with another condition and medication against medication.  And then, of course, you need to think of all the side effects of these drugs as well.

Doctor, having said all this, I am now in awe of  the treatment you provide and the depth of knowledge you need to carry out your job.  Looking at the “whole person” could be a nightmare with a patient who already had some other condition/s.  I am grateful you used time, money and expertise with me that I needed.

Thanks Doctor

Yours
